I really enjoyed your second book, "Just Lucky, I Guess" and look forward to reading more of your works. I have always been a poem writer, just do it for fun. But, I think it's good for the soul to sit down and express yourself on paper. Keep writing, Mr Holmes, and we all will keep reading. Thanks for being such an inspiration to us all.

This all sounds so very interesting. I've at times thought about writing a book, however even though I started at one time, I finally decided there really wouldn't be that many people interested in reading fiction about the long arduous life I struggled through raising my children as a single parent and the trials and tribulations that go along with that life, and how to survive it, with an intact mind. It's not an easy task, but the rewards are phenominal to me. I consider each of mychildren a personal merit badge. Will see if I can order your book for my oldest daughter who has a 14-year-old daughter in WHS currently.

Richard, great website, it bothers me a lot also, the fact PA is only lowering prices for PAperbacks and bargain hardcovers if the author pulls money out of their own pocket to buy. It's not right, it's just a means to make money from the author.

Hello Richard. Just wanted to let you know I was here. Congratulations on this book and the new one to come. I am sure you know what an inspiration you were to me and I swear, I never tried to take any more salt or pepper shakers since HS. As a matter of fact, I even left the silver ware and dishes. :)

I will be looking forward to your next book coming out. Unfortunately my love for reading seemed to fade through the years, but I have been trying to get a book of mine own published. It is spiritual poetry and the title is "One Spirit's Roamings". Although I have enough poetry how for two books, the financial situation is not good being on disability and I can not afford the down payment to even get it started. I have been working with Xlibiris Publishing and they offer many different packages. They are all good, yet I still have more artwork to collect. I purchased five prints from Beth Budesheim that are just perfect for some of my works and one for the book cover. I do not intend on having a pic for each poemj; that would be too much. Yet there are still others that pictures would definitely give more meaning to my work.

Okay. I will stop babbling now. Let us know when your book is out. I do expect a signed copy. LOL

With regards

Richard M. Holmes was my high school English and Drama teacher--and a friend to all his students. Funny as all get-out, he managed to keep unruly students on their toes while instilling in the rest of us a genuine love for literature, poetry and the writerly way. When I'm asked to name my Mentors, Richard Holmes ("Prof") is the first on that list. I'm a writer today in large part due to his encouragement, example and extraordinary insight.
